Daily Action- Improvement Goal
Day 1
We aim to do our large group times a maximum of 20 minutes and explore more in small groups but with distractions, and lots of interruptions since our students are still developing their focusing skills these times sometimes go longer. After we talked about 'the rule of 7' it made me rethink the significance of breaks, reminders, and summaries, highlighting their crucial role in our educational approach. This strategic emphasis creates a more effective learning environment for our students' age group while also meeting their changing demands and improving engagement and participation.
Day 2
In our curriculum and plans, we have outlined specific learning goals, achievements, and aims. However, during the lesson itself, I realize that while I do inform my preschoolers about what they will be learning today, I often skip to explain why it is important for them to acquire this knowledge. Moving forward, to foster a deeper level of engagement and comprehension among my students, I decided to begin each lesson by providing an explanation of its significance - encouraging them not only to question but also to make connections to deepen their understanding.
Day 3
After we talked about how individuals are pushed to the edges because their choices, preferences and interests are getting marginalised, I have been thinking about how to create a more inclusive classroom. In my classroom, I can do that by including perspectives, cultures, and experiences into my plans and teaching materials. Providing differentiated instruction that takes into account the individual needs of my preschoolers can help them to feel validated. For example, I can offer different material and tool choices during daily activities so that my students can express themselves better and it will accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
Day 4
After our shares about Artificial intelligence (AI) I also tried a couple of designs and discovered that AI has the potential to significantly improve several educational aspects in a preschool setting. Designing curricula is one important area where AI can help. AI algorithms can customize curricula to meet the various demands of students by examining their unique learning styles and preferences. This results in a more efficient and customized learning process for each student. AI can also help me create dynamic and interesting content. Artificial intelligence (AI) can produce age-appropriate resources which I struggle to find when I create my lesson materials. I already tried a couple of AI inclusions for example, since we have been talking about professions this week I designed a board game that includes some occupations with some tips and visuals for my students to act out for a guessing game.
Day 5
After we worked on the example plan and learning goals to evaluate I went back to the plans I wrote to see how they matched with my colleagues' comments and suggestions. I already specify learning goals for each lesson but I need to clarify assessment ways and make sure that I am effectively measuring in multiple ways whether students have met those goals.
Day 6
After discussing differentiation strategies such as games, visuals, and extension activities, and providing choices for students to demonstrate their understanding and reflections, I reflected on my expectations for assessing my preschoolers. It seems that we need more self-correction toys, materials, and activities in our classroom to encourage independent learning and exploration.
